| Welcome To Our Site |
Scouting originated in Waterdown in 1935 with the 1st Waterdown Troop & Cub Pack. By the 1960’s there were 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Waterdown Groups. They all folded except 3rd Waterdown, which received its charter in October of 1960. Our home base is Sealey Park Scout Hall on Mill St. The Legion Br.551, Waterdown, sponsors the 3rd Waterdown Group. We wear the Legion emblem on the back of our scarves. Our group has five sections: Beavers 5-7, Cubs 8-10, Scouts 11-14, Venturers 15-17, & Rovers 18-26. All our leaders are police checked volunteers. We have a Group Committee made up of interested parents, leaders, and other volunteers that meets on a monthly basis from August to May to look after fundraising, program issues, leadership recruitment, registration, and any other administrative issues affecting the group.

| Scouts Canada’s Mission |
"To contribute to the education of young people, through a value system based on the Scout Promise and Law, to help build a better world where people are self-fulfilled as individuals and play a constructive role in society”
This is achieved by:
- Involving them throughout their formative years in a non-formal educational process.
- Using a specific method that makes each individual the principal agent in his or her development as a self-reliant, supportive, responsible and committed person.
- Assisting them to establish a value system based upon spiritual, social and personal principles as expressed in the Promise and Law.
